Try Cucumbers for HAIR THINNING

Hey HoneyVerans!!!
Cool as a cucumber and also nourishing...

Cucumbers contain lots of vitamins A and C and silica, which promotes hair growth. Cucumber repairs and strengthens damaged and thinning tresses, especially when combined with aloe or egg. Cucumber is soothing because of its alkaline minerals, such as sodium, potassium and magnesium; and its juice offers benefits when applied directly to the scalp and hair.

As we all know, cucumbers have different types and varieties, but it does not mean they also have different health benefits. Despite the varieties, cucumbers have the same active properties that can reduce the risk of health problems, from skin and hair, to overall health. Read below to learn about the vegetables’ beneficial properties:

Lignans
Researchers have long studied the active substance found in most vegetables. The substance that is very beneficial for the health is called lignans. This substance is thought to have a positive effect in reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases as well as other types of cancer – breast, ovary, uterine, and prostate cancers. Cucumbers have three major lignans: Secoisolariciresinol, pinoresinol, and lariciresinol. These lignans have stronger joint forces in reducing the risk of the aforementioned diseases.

Anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
A recent study shows that fresh extracts of cucumbers have anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. These substances play an important role in getting rid of free radicals, substances that are responsible for cancer formation, and reducing the risk of inflammatory diseases. However, this research is considered as preliminary, as it has only been tested on animals in laboratory setting. Yet, researchers stated that the findings they had are consistent and clear that the cucumbers have the aforementioned properties beneficial for preventing cancer. Antioxidant properties of cucumbers include beta-carotene, vitamin C, manganese as well as flavonoids.

Cucurbitacins
Cucurbitacins A, B, C, D, and E belong to a large group of phytonutrients called triterpenes, natural substances mainly reside in plants which could help fight against diseases and make the body function properly. Some researchers had studied the efficacy of cucurbitacins in animals in a laboratory setting. They hope that the research can lead to positive findings, which cucurbitacins could reduce the risk of cancer formation in humans. Overall, cucumbers have substances, lignans and cucurbitacins, which are anti-cancer benefits. You may want to add cucumbers to your diet daily for their health benefits.

Vitamins and Minerals
In 104 grams of sliced cucumbers, the vegetable already contains 21.3 percent of vitamin K, 6.9 percent of molybdenum, 4.8 percent of vitamin C, 4.3 percent of potassium, 4 percent of manganese, 3.3 percent of magnesium, 3.1 percent of tryptophan, 2.7 percent of vitamin B5, and 0 percent of calories. Vitamin K is almost forgotten, and the health benefits of the vitamin are often overlooked
There are numerous benefits that we can get by consuming vegetables with vitamin K – K1, K2, and K3. Cucumbers have rich sources of the said vitamin, and are listed as one of the highest food sources of Vitamin K. The major responsibilities of vitamin K for the health are the following:

    1. Prevent osteoporosis. Vitamin K2 helps make the bones stronger.
    2. Reduce the risk of cancer formation. Vitamin K1 and K2 help prevent you from getting any forms of cancer.
    3. Prevent cardiovascular diseases. Vitamin K2 can prevent the arteries from hardening, which is one of the causes of coronary artery and cardiovascular diseases. It will also help keep the calcium out of the artery linings as well as other body tissues, which can lead to damage.
